GIIS Interact Club receives prestigious District Awards for community impact initiatives

The GIIS SMART Campus Interact Club has brought pride to the school community with its outstanding achievements at the district level, receiving two prestigious awards in recognition of its impactful service initiatives and meaningful contributions towards community development.

Among the key highlights was BizLift, which received the Overall District Award and was recognised as the Best Interact Project in Singapore. The innovative initiative focused on empowering local home-based businesses by helping entrepreneurs strengthen their digital presence and develop practical business skills for long-term growth and sustainability.

Established by the GIIS Interact Club Board of Directors, BizLift supported small home-based businesses through digital marketing, branding, website development, and financial literacy mentoring. The project aimed to address the challenges many local entrepreneurs face in building a strong online presence despite offering quality products and services.

Through close collaboration with business owners, students worked on enhancing brand identity, revamping social media platforms, developing websites, and introducing practical strategies related to marketing, customer engagement, and financial tracking. The initiative also encouraged entrepreneurs to independently manage their digital platforms by introducing them to AI-powered tools and content creation techniques, ensuring the project’s impact extended beyond the pilot phase.

The project reflected Rotary International’s focus on Community Economic Development and showcased how students could apply creativity, innovation, and leadership skills to support real-world needs within the community.

In addition to BizLift, the GIIS Interact Club’s Interact Week initiative received the Merit Award for successfully bringing the school community together through meaningful awareness and service activities.

The week featured a mental health and suicide prevention talk organised in collaboration with Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) and the school’s Psych & Mental Health Club, encouraging important conversations around emotional wellbeing and mental health awareness. Students also distributed appreciation letters to school staff as a gesture of gratitude and organised a charity bake sale alongside the MedVet Club and Red Cross Youth Chapter, raising over $300 in support of Club Rainbow.

These recognitions reflect the dedication, compassion, and collaborative spirit of the GIIS Interact Club members, who continue to create initiatives that positively impact both the school and wider community. The achievements also stand as a testament to the values of leadership, empathy, service, and social responsibility nurtured at GIIS SMART Campus.
