GIIS East Coast won the first position in the 10th annual GIIS Interschool Hi-Q Science Quiz conducted for the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam rolling trophy at the Queenstown campus recently, where the host team as well as a team from Yuva Bharathi International School also participated.

A three-member team from each participating school competed to answer questions based on concepts of Science as taught from Grade 7 to Grade 9 to which the participants belonged.
The teams were designated A, B and C through a draw of lots. There were in total four rounds - mindquest, science in action, visual round, rapid fire round.
The winning East Coast team had Rohit Kannan (Grade 7), Aditya Garladinne (Grade 8), Aryan Sharma (Grade 9). The first runners up were Yuva Bharathi International School whose team comprised Aryan Dubey, (Grade 7), Shruthi Sivakumar (Grade 8), and Kaavya Senthilkumar (Grade 9). Second runners up GIIS Queenstown were represented by Ninad Dixit (Grade 7C), Arshiya Taman (Grade 8IG- C) and Shivam Manish Garg (Grade 9IG- B).

The audience comprised of the class 8 CBSE, 8 and 9 IGCSE and emcees were IBYr1 students (Archana Prasad, Samyuktaa Rajnarayanan, Vigneshwar Hariharan, Ishaan Desai). Chinmay Jolhe and Mrinaal Tomar of IB Yr1 also helped in conducting the quiz.
