On November 9, 2024, GIIS East Coast Campus celebrated its Annual Day with a spectacular event themed "Around the World in 80 Minutes." This eagerly awaited showcase of global culture captivated the audience, bringing the vibrancy and diversity of world traditions to life on stage.

The event was graced by esteemed Guests of Honour, Ms. Vickneswari Vadivalagan and Mr. Himanshu Motial, along with other distinguished dignitaries.

The day unfolded in two exciting segments, with the first featuring performances by Kindergarten to Grade 3 students, and the second highlighting students from Grades 4 to 9. Each group performed in vibrant costumes, delivering enchanting songs, dances, and skits that celebrated the unique spirit of cultures from across the globe.

The festivities began with an energetic performance by the school band, followed by a graceful classical dance. An ethnic song from Singapore then paid tribute to the multicultural spirit of the nation. A moving Kenyan drama and a Russian play both conveyed powerful messages of forgiveness and unity, resonating deeply with the audience.

Guided by MCs, the audience was taken on a journey through foreign lands, with highlights including a lively Chinese drama, the English play “The Trial of Goldilocks,” and Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. Additional performances, such as Spanish, Philippine, Austrian, and Peruvian dances, brought even more excitement to the programme.

The event concluded on a high note with a stirring rendition of the “World Anthem” by the school choir, uniting everyone in the spirit of global harmony. A heartfelt vote of thanks by the Head Girl and Head Boy brought the celebration to a close, leaving the audience uplifted and inspired.

The Annual Day was a memorable journey, celebrating the students' creativity, teamwork, and joy—creating unforgettable memories for all in attendance.
