On November 8th, 2025, GIIS East Coast celebrated its 20th Annual Day - The Glowing Treasure Trove, with a spectacular show put up by the very students and teachers of the campus to embrace the glowing 20’s of our beloved school. Clearly, the key focus of this year’s annual day couldn’t have been generic. For a monumental occasion like this, we had to look back at what makes our school great, and the answer was our 9 gems pedagogy , one that we have been following for countless years.
The 9 Gems framework consists of the 9 factors that our students are provided with to ensure an overall holistic development , and to nurture us into not only becoming academic stars, but a GLOWing global citizen.
This year, the students had sweat trickling from head to toe as the guest of honour was Mr. Goh Pei Ming , the Minister of State and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore. Along with the minister, several high profile leaders from the Global Schools Group also attended the event, including Mr. Atul Temurnikar , chairman of GSG and other senior members of management.
There were 2 shows, primary and secondary, both of which outdid each other. Each show was a perfect display of talent and creativity.
The major highlight of the first show was the grand finale performance, which was a dance choreographed by our very own dance teacher , Ms. Srabonti Halder. Students from all parts of the show gathered and danced to an upbeat song. The groovy moves and impressive coordination between students mesmerized the audience and ended the show on an energetic note
The second show, which was performed by primary students, consisted of dynamic skits, energetic dance performances and mesmerizing singing from the little stars of GIIS.
The energetic aura from the students made even the volunteers vibe to the beats. After burning the midnight oil for weeks, students and teachers made both ends meet to make this event a collective success, we achieved a result far greater than we expected. But the result is not the only positive that came from this event. The constant collaboration between students of various classes, teachers and even faculty strengthened the sense of community and collaboration, of belonging.
To conclude, the 20th annual day of GIIS couldn’t have been better. Experiencing all members of the school work together towards perfecting this event, From laughing during dance practices, to panicking at the transition between skits, every student had an unforgettable experience as we celebrated our school’s glowing 20.
