On 30 April, GIIS East Coast Campus marked a significant milestone with the launch of its much-anticipated 9 GEMS Speaker Series, beginning with a focus on GEM 1: Academic Excellence. The inaugural session was a celebration of the school’s holistic educational philosophy — one that nurtures intellect, character, and purpose.
The event was graced by a distinguished guest, Mr. Rajeev Katyal, CEO of the Global Schools Foundation Network of Schools — a visionary leader in global education and an acclaimed author. His literary work, Battles for Delhi: Dilli Kareeb Ast, has garnered widespread acclaim for its compelling portrayal of India’s rich and vibrant history. The book eloquently narrates stories of leadership, courage, and resilience — themes that resonate deeply with the values of the 9 GEMS framework.
Mr. Katyal led an engaging and thought-provoking session, drawing deep connections between India’s historical narratives and the pursuit of academic excellence. He emphasised that true academic achievement extends beyond grades — it lies in cultivating wisdom, character, and the courage to make meaningful change in the world.
Students and teachers alike were left inspired by the way history was brought to life, and by how its lessons remain deeply relevant in shaping the scholars and leaders of tomorrow.
This inaugural session has set a powerful tone for the 9 GEMS Speaker Series — a platform designed to bring thought leaders into the school community and enrich the educational journey through real-world perspectives.
GIIS East Coast’s commitment to fostering holistic excellence was on full display, and this event reaffirmed the school’s vision of developing not only high achievers but also thoughtful, compassionate global citizens.
