DUBAI, 2 April 2018: First day of school began with a bang in Dubai as Pre-KG (A & B) and KG 1 (A, B & C) marched to their colourful and decorated classrooms on Monday, as proud parents watched with joy and anxiety when their children started a new life outside the family home.
The three-year-olds were introduced to fun activities like mixing colours and blowing bubbles as teachers worked on honing their fine motor skills and creativitiy. During the "bubble activity”, the children were fascinated to see the bubble splash into a different designs. They also enjoyed themselves during other activities like scribbling on the floor and rolling out paint with different designed rollers.
When allowed to play with colourful dough, children rolled, flattened, chopped and cut dought into diferent shapes and sizes, making patterns of choice. The activity was an exercise in building their hand-eye coordination and improving their muscle strength. Sand pits were the most popular area for children who filled up their buckets with spades and trays.
Other activities included making take away hats.
The first day of school also helped children get to know their peers and teachers, and make friends. They introduced themselves during circle time and during outdoor activities. At the end of the day, the children carried home colourful rainbow spinners, hats and few painted fishes.
