Rangotsav by Grade 1 to 5 students was a kaleidoscope to watch the celebration of colours and dance styles

The celebration of colours and styles by the students of Grade 1 to Grade 5 of Global Indian International School, Whitefield brought the idea of Rangotsav - the celebration of styles and colors live on stage. To witness the Annual Day celebration, the respected Chief Guests were - Wing Commander Mr. K Balachandran (who has served for the Indian Air Force for nearly 33 years), Mr. Parshvadeep Singh Rao (the Associate Director-Operations for GIIS campuses in Pune and Bangalore) and Ms Uma Hrishikesh (an Educational Therapist, Special Educator & one of the board members of SERPA (Special Educator's and Rehabilitation Professionals Association), Mr. Ramprakash and Mr. Harish (GIIS Infrastructure Partners). The Chief Guests were accompanied by Dr. Shivananda C S (Principal), Ms. Preetha D’Mello (Head Mistress), Ms. Jeelu Varghese and Ms. J Anuradha (Academic Coordinators) for the Lighting of the Lamp Ceremony. The prestigious Felicitation Ceremony of Staff for Long Service with GIIS received a round of applause and appreciation from everyone in the audience. Ms. Uma Hrishikesh shared motivating words on the new techniques of teaching and learning that has made education easy for all. In his speech, Mr. Parshvadeep Singh Rao said, that children have fond memories of their school days and special events like Annual Day when they grow up. They grow up to become leaders and school is the place where it starts.

The magic of Rangotsav began in February 2020, with the Welcome Dance that was rhythmic, classic, colourful and was gracefully presented by the students. Grade 1 showcased the Rainbow Dance on Seasons and Weather, in which different sections came as individual teams to denote the colours of VIBGYOR. There was then a soothing Kannada song presentation by the students. Grade 2 students presented the Global form of dances as Leaps and Beats. They represented Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Finland, France, Italy and Germany through colourful costumes and unique dance styles to denote the speciality in each country. The colourful celebration of dance, music and styles by the students of Grades 3, 4 and 5 ignited the theme of Rangotsav with grandeur. The aura of colours encompassed the hall with the spectacular Welcome Dance by the students of Grade 3 and 4. There was a presentation of the Navarasa - the presentations of the journey of 9 emotions or expressions (Shringaara, Haasya, Karuna, Bhayaanaka, Veera, Roudra, Bheebhatsya, Adbuth and Shaantha). Rituchakra, the Classical Fusion Dance on spring, summer, monsoon and winter was truly mesmerizing. The Piano music rendition was also soulful and perfect. The Grand Finale surprised everyone as there was every element of dance, music and hip - hop, depicting the ultimate vivacity of the students on stage. Ms. Jeelu Mary Varghese proposed the vote of thanks and she offered her gratitude to all teachers, admin, and support & housekeeping staff for making the event a grand success.

Rangotsav was a mega success as could be seen from the appreciation by the parents.
