Pre Primary World Fiesta covering 9 countries was a mega success with spectacular performances from students

The multi-cultural event 'World Fiesta', was held in August 2019 in Global Indian International School, Whitefield campus. It was a spectacular celebration that showcased the unity we have in our cultural diversity. The stage was set with an objective to cultivate and nurture the idea of one world in minds of young kindergarten students. In present day world, the need to embrace cultural diversity is promoted by every nation to spread love, peace, humanity and compassion. GIIS has a global presence and therefore the cultural differences are respected and accepted in our every campus worldwide.

GIIS Whitefield pre-primary segment joined hands to spread the message of respecting and honouring every religion, race, gender and culture. It was like witnessing the whole world on one stage in graceful dance and the innocent gestures of all the GIIS cherubs.

Children came dressed up in perfect traditional costumes of respective countries that they were representing. Dance performances from various countries were colourful, rhythmic and depicted awesome choreography by the teachers. There was lighting of the lamp ceremony followed by a special message from Ms. Preetha D'Mello (Head Mistress, Pre Primary) about unity in cultural diversity. Everyone was awe-struck to see the cutest surprise of our Nursery kids walking the ramp, they looked adorable in the cute colourful costume of Japan.

KG 1 A showcased the culture and music of Italy, KG 1 B represented glory of USA and KG 1 C echoed the pride of being a part of India. KG 2 A danced on a folk music of South Africa, KG 2 B performed on the foot-tapping lyrics of Spain, KG 2 C entertained everyone with the peppy music from Mexico, KG 2 D brought to life the popular culture of UAE through their song of praise from the magical land and KG 2 E mesmerized everyone through a mystical dance from China. The Quiz sessions by the children based on countries saw active participation from parents. There were food stalls with delicious home-made delicacies of various countries. Nearly 450 parents were present to witness the world fiesta day and to cheer the young students' performances. The backdrop was marvellous and the special credit for this goes to the teachers who worked with a passion and achieved artistic perfection.

On the extensive success of this event, Ms. Preetha D'Mello (Head Mistress) congratulated everyone and said that ‘GIIS Bangalore Pre-Primary students have once again delighted the hearts of all the audiences. We thank all the parents for being our true partners and turning up in such large numbers to make this cultural fiesta a grand success’.
