The 5th edition of Global Excellence Day (GED) 2024 was a remarkable success at the Global Village Campus, where students from GIIS Whitefield showcased their outstanding talents. This year’s event embraced a multi-themed approach centred around Sustainability, Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (SITE).

In the senior category, the team Aqua Rangers, consisting of Sama Rijas, Arya Menon V T, Devayudh Manna, and Rishika Ragunathan, excelled by securing the second prize and winning the prestigious Silver Trophy. Their innovative presentation focused on an AI-based solution for water conservation. Rishika also achieved a significant accolade by being named the Best Delegate during the inaugural ceremony of the Mock Conference of Parties (MCOP) of the Global Schools Group (GSG).

The primary segment team, Permeable Patrons, made up of Sahana Bhattacharjee, Shrestha Karthik, and Aradhya Nair, earned recognition for the Best Presentation. They highlighted innovative urban structures, combining themes of innovation and sustainability.

From the middle segment, Ridhi Vijesh Nair, Arnav Pal, and Sai Pranav impressed the judges, with Sai Pranav receiving the Best Presenter award for his exceptional skills.

These achievements mark a significant milestone for GIIS Whitefield, demonstrating their excellence on an international stage. The GED event was co-hosted alongside Mock Conference Parties (MCOP) 2024, providing students with a unique platform to engage with climate leaders and peers, reinforcing the importance of youth voices in global discussions on climate change.

Organised by the Global Centre for Education Excellence (GCEE) under the GSG, the event featured 18 campuses from six GSG brands, bringing together over 200 students for a vibrant celebration of innovation and teamwork.
