The Pre-Primary Summer Camp was conducted with great enthusiasm, offering our young learners a joyful and enriching experience filled with creativity, exploration, and fun. Carefully designed to support holistic development, the camp brought together a variety of age-appropriate activities that nurtured both learning and enjoyment in a safe and engaging environment.
From the very beginning, children were immersed in activities that sparked their imagination and built essential skills. Art and craft sessions encouraged creativity while strengthening fine motor abilities, as little hands worked on colourful and imaginative creations. Singing and dance sessions added energy and excitement, allowing children to express themselves confidently through rhythm and movement.
A special emphasis was placed on developing early writing skills through structured handwriting practice. Activities focused on improving pencil grip, tracing, and letter formation, laying a strong foundation for future learning. One of the most loved segments was the fireless cooking activity, where children prepared simple dishes. This not only made learning fun but also promoted independence and introduced basic life skills in a safe and supervised setting.
To further support cognitive growth, children participated in logical thinking activities that enhanced problem-solving abilities. Simple science experiments also sparked curiosity, introducing young minds to basic scientific concepts through hands-on exploration.
The second week focused on strengthening creativity, fine motor skills, and logical thinking. Children eagerly participated in engaging art and craft activities such as jellyfish making, bookmark creation, and butterfly painting. Handwriting sessions became more interactive with tracing exercises, peg activities, and clay moulding, all aimed at enhancing pre-writing skills.
Logical thinking was nurtured through activities like colour sorting, helping children develop early cognitive abilities. The fireless cooking session, where children prepared bread sandwiches, was both enjoyable and educational, encouraging independence and confidence. Music, dance, and yoga sessions added balance to the schedule, supporting both physical well-being and emotional expression.
The final week of the camp was vibrant and celebratory. Children explored their creativity by making photo frames, crowns, and paper cup houses. Dance and music sessions continued to build confidence and self-expression, while handwriting activities progressed to freehand drawing and independent letter formation.
Nature walks and play-based activities allowed children to explore their surroundings, fostering curiosity and a love for the environment. Simple science experiments once again brought excitement, reinforcing learning through fun and discovery.
The camp concluded with a well-organised Culmination Day, a proud moment for both children and educators. The young participants confidently showcased their talents through lively dance performances and a delightful musical presentation. It was a true reflection of the skills, confidence, and enthusiasm they had developed throughout the camp.
Certificates were awarded to all participants by the Coordinators and the Senior Manager – Academic Operations, recognising their active participation and efforts. The event ended on a joyful and memorable note, leaving children with happy memories and a sense of accomplishment.
Overall, the Pre-Primary Summer Camp was a wonderful blend of learning and fun. It provided children with opportunities to explore, create, and grow in a nurturing environment, making it a truly meaningful and enjoyable experience for all.
