Grade 1 to 5 enjoyed a virtual field trip to astounding tourist places in Dubai and Sri Lanka

WHITEFIELD, BANGALORE, 2020 - The mention of field trips for Global Indian International School creates a stride of excitement in the minds of students and this year, the Grade 1 to Grade 5 students were very happy to tour to some of the most fascinating destinations abroad. The planning for field trips was limited to the places in Bangalore before the stay home days, the concept was upgraded and customized in a way that GIIS students were feeling elated lucky to travel virtually and enjoy the flight journeys to visit places in Dubai and Sri Lanka.

Ms. Jeelu Mary Varghese, the Academic Coordinator took the lead and teamed up with all the teachers to brief them about the best plans and ideas to be incorporated in the virtual field trip, with the intention of creating the same excitement as would have been in real. To meet perfection, she and her enthusiastic team of teachers conducted a dry run before the actual event and this was helpful Grade 1 visited the Miracle Gardens in Dubai, Grade 3, 4 went to Sigiriya caves in Sri Lanka, and Grade 5 went to Dumbulla Cave Temple in Sri Lanka. The airport formalities pertaining to immigration and boarding pass were explained virtually. The striking part of the trip was that they students could easily get the panoramic tour made it seem much better than the real experience and they could even click a photo of anything they saw in these places. The teachers went an extra mile to unleash their creativity to merge the photos of students, teachers and Admin Staff to design beautiful snapshots of the tour to present memorable personalized photo of the trip, to treasure for their lifetime. Ms. Jeelu appreciated all the teachers for making this virtual tour a fascinating one, not only for the students but also for the parents.

Parents were all praises for the teachers as they were pouring their happiness to all the teachers. One of the parents wished to be invited for the next said that as the world has changed to augmented reality audio, video (over digital) and smell and taste (from home) has become more important and this is what we all need to train ourselves. Almost all of them said that their children were very happy and learned so many facts about the places that they visited virtually.
