Students of Global Indian International School, Whitefield won in the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition 2019-20 at Sindhi High school, Bangalore in November 2019. Both the teams from our school bagged the First Prize in their respective categories under the theme 'Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with a Thrust on Water Conservation'.
This CBSE Regional Science Exhibition was an excellent platform for Grade 6-12 students to showcase how science and technology can be brought together to arrive at solutions to create a better world and improve the quality of living. Around 140 participants from more than 40 schools across Karnataka participated in this exhibition. Our teams were brilliant and appreciated by the judges for the clarity of subject, confidence in presentation and promptness in answering the questions. They were selected to represent a more advanced version of their projects at the National CBSE Science Exhibition in New Delhi.
Team 1 (Secondary and Sr. Secondary Category) FIRST
Students - Atiksh Parashar and Siddharth Harikumar (Grade-6 C)
Sub-theme: Industrial Development
The students made a Hydro Walker - a working model dedicated towards cleaning water bodies. This consisted of a boat modified in a way that can help in collecting surface waste, then segregate and recycle the waste.
Team 2 (Secondary and Sr. Secondary Category) FIRST
Students - Rohan Harish Reddy and Dhruv Raj Nair (Grade-8 C)

The team made a model called 'Next Resource - Biocity'; this was a 3 module working model where 2 modules were dedicated towards producing electricity through an efficient sustainable and eco-friendly source which includes use of potassium sodium tartrate and the 3rd module was dedicated towards producing and use electricity generated through rhythmic impact and heat generated from automobile engines and other machines.
We are very proud of our students who are representing Karnataka in the National level of the CBSE Science Exhibition that will be held in New Delhi. GIIS family wish them very best and hope they win the Nationals.?
