GIIS Whitefield Hosts Seminar on Analytics for grade 9-10

GIIS Whitefield recently hosted a seminar on "Exploring the World of Analytics" in collaboration with Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. The seminar was aimed at providing insights into areas of data science, applied statistics, and analytics to senior students and parents.

 

The seminar began with Dr. Santhosha C D,-Assistant Professor in Statistics, Chairperson of B.Sc. (Applied Statistics and Analytics) who provided an introduction to data science, applied statistics, and analytics. He also shared glimpses of NMIMS and the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, and Analytics. Dr. Santhosha C D's insights provided the audience with a clear understanding on the importance of analytics in the modern world and how it can help organizations make better decisions.

 

Mr. Sangram Wadkar- Assistant Director, Placements for Undergraduate Programs including School of Law talked about the various job placements opportunities available for the students in the field of analytics.  His presentation gave the audience an idea of the potential career prospects in the analytics industry and how students can leverage them.

 

The seminar also featured SOMASA (School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics and Analytics) students, who conducted feedback and quiz sessions with students present. This interactive session allowed students to test their knowledge and gain insights from their peers.

 

The seminar concluded with a wonderful Q&A session, where participants and parents had the opportunity to clarify their doubts and gain further insights. Ms. Debanjana(Special Educator cum counselor) delivered vote of thanks. In his closing remarks, he highlighted the importance of such seminars in providing valuable knowledge and career guidance to students.

 

The session in collaboration between GIIS Whitefield and NMIMS provided a unique opportunity for students to interact with experts from the field and gain insights into the industry. Overall, the seminar was a success, and the students and parents left with valuable information and knowledge.
