GIIS Virtual Children’s Day gifted Abundance of Smiles and Joy right to their Homes

GIIS Whitefield celebrated Children’s Day in the most special way with a lot of wishes and blessings pouring in for all the students through a spectacular series of special surprises.

Mr. Ashwani Kumar Saxena (Principal, GIIS Whitefield) wished all GIISians of Whitefield and shared thoughts on their favourite Chacha Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister and emphasized on giving the best education to every child, to help them become responsible and smart become future global citizens.

Our little munchkins of Pre Primary (Nursery, KG1 and KG2) celebrated Children’s day and also Diwali in a grand way, virtually.   As part of the joyful day, the kids were shown a nice video about the life story of Jawahar Lal Nehru and his love for children. They liked the video showcasing the significance of the festival of lights. They were awe-amazed seeing the virtual firecrackers too. The Diwali special activities included diya decoration, puja plate arrangement and paper plate rangoli. They played virtual fun games like let’s play sound bingo, emoji funny face and treasure hunt (colour), guess the rhyme with emojis), memory game and sweets treasure hunt (with clues). The fun and enjoyment on the double festive occasion was complete when the little ones enjoyed dancing to the music of combined songs that were played online based on the themes for Diwali and Children’s Day. Ms. Preetha D’Mello (Head Mistress, Pre Primary) shared a special message, ‘Our young kids are heroes too during this challenging year. They stayed at home despite their boredom and they did a wonderful job of learning despite all the difficulties. I wish them a very happy Children’s Day.’ 

The Primary segment (Grade1-5) enjoyed watching the special programme organized virtually to make their day memorable.  There was an array of programmes comprising of a special video about Jawaharlal Nehru. The solo dances by their teachers Mr. Ashok and by Ms. Kalavathi brought a smile on their faces. There was also an entertaining group dance performed by the teachers. The unique activities include Chef hat and Fruit salad. They enjoyed the engaging game time too. The freeze and dance was fantastic too.  Ms. Jeelu Mary Varghese (Academic Coordinator) poured abundance of happy wishes for the students and said,’ A child can always teach us to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his/her might that which he/she desires.

The Secondary and Senior Secondary segment (Grade 6-12) celebrated Children’s Day with interesting programmes by teachers and fun-filled activities for them. There was a beautiful song rendition by Mr Govind and a Video showcased by Ms. Simmi followed by a dance by Ms. Soma.  There was a Short video on the Life of a Teacher and a Skit ‘Am I audible?’ A video showcasing their wonderful memories at school was mesmerizing. A quiz was also organized for the children. Ms. J Anuradha (Academic Coordinator) mentioned about the bond and fondness of Chacha Nehru with children and showered love for all the students emphasizing on the fact that every child’s success and well-being is the desire of parents as well as the teachers.

GIIS Whitefield is proud of every student studying here making us happy and giving many reasons to celebrate and cheer on their every success.
