"Opportunities don't happen. You create them.”    - Chris Grosser

Misled aren’t those who encountered awry in the pursuit of their dreams but those, who did not step out and attempt at all. At GIIS we fuel the unique dreams and passions of all our students and encourage them to participate in as many competitions as they wish to, with a motive of not just winning, but learning along the way. It always brings us immense pleasure to see our students excel in multifarious fields and this time, Arnav Natu of Grade 7, GIIS Whitefield gifted us an occasion to celebrate and feel proud of his remarkable achievements.

Arnav recently participated in a cricket tournament- Cult Challengers Cup, held at Six Cricket Academy, and not only played an instrumental part in steering his team- Cult Lions, towards winning the tournament but also won the title of “Player of the match” for two of the matches. When asked about his motivation behind the marvelous performance, Arnav says- “……Initially, cricket was just a hobby for me. However, as I started playing with different teams, I enjoyed it because it helped me in developing teamwork and leadership qualities. My parents understood my love for the game and with their encouragement, it quickly became my passion. I am also thankful to my teachers for their support who always stood by my side and encouraged me to do my best”

Arnav’s parents are definitely on cloud nine after his success and thanked his sports teacher for helping him secure this feat. His father says- “….. a very huge thank you to the school cricket coach Mr. Vikram for going out of his way and ensuring that the budding cricketers get the much-needed coaching and match practice even during the pandemic times. The exposure to different methods of coaching and playing various tournaments helped Arnav in gaining confidence and also improved his skills. I’m grateful to Arnav’s teachers and the GIIS Whitefield’s management as this wouldn’t have been possible without their co-operation and wholehearted support.”

This isn’t the first achievement bagged by our all-rounder Arnav Natu this year as he also secured 1st international rank in Science Olympiad Foundation’s- International English Olympiad (SOF-IEO). Sharing the first position with 68 other participants across the world, Arnav has been awarded a certificate of outstanding performance, an international gold medal, and several other gifts.

Our young achiever has proved that there is no limit to opportunities and success once a person puts all his hard work and determination towards reaching his goal. We are proud of you Arnav, keep shining and thriving towards your dream. All the very best for your glorious future!
