The GIIS SMART Campus held a spectacular farewell for its CBSE cohort at the Graduation Day Ceremony on March 31, 2023. The ceremony is marked in appreciation of the student’s hard work that they have put during their learning journey at the school.
The event was meticulously organised by the current Grade 12 students and was graced by the Guest of Honour, Academic Director, Dr Nitin Pangarkar, from the National University of Singapore. During his speech, Dr Pangarkar shared his insights and words of wisdom with the graduating cohort.
SMART Campus Principal, Ms Melissa Maria also spoke on the occasion and wished the graduates a bright and promising future. She motivated the students by quoting Walt Disney, “All dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them”, fueling them with inspiration.
The auditorium reverberated with applause as the graduating cohort dressed in their graduation robes walked up on the stage to receive mementos. The parent representatives of the graduating cohort wished the students the best for their future endeavours while the student representatives of the graduating batch Pradakshina Krishnan and Ninad Dixit addressed the audience, sharing their joyful memories and learning experiences of the last few years.
Another highlight of the event was the dazzling performance by the student band, ‘Euphoria’ on hits like Coldplay’s ‘Yellow’, Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’, and Bryan Adams’ ‘Summer of ‘69’ which left the auditorium electrified. The dance group ‘Diaspora’ performed to famous dance numbers and absolutely exhilarated the audience with their enthusiasm.
The graduates took the oath and hurled their caps in the air after they were declared graduates, and their elation was indeed infectious. The ceremony came to a memorable conclusion, with innumerable hugs, tears, and farewells, and the graduates left with happy memories etched in their hearts as they embark on a new phase of their respective careers to achieve countless milestones.
