SMART Campus chess prodigies excel at International Chess Tournament

In a remarkable display of strategic prowess and sportsmanship, over 100 chess prodigies from GIIS SMART Campus secured numerous medals at the International School Chess Tournament 2023, hosted by the United World College East Campus from November 14 to 16, 2023.

 

A total of 112 students, from grade 1 to grade 12 represented SMART Campus across various categories, showcasing their determination, competence, and skills. Competing against participants from various international schools in Singapore, the SMART Campus students took part in categories such as Under-9, Under-11, Under-14, Under-16, and above-16.

Key highlights of GIIS SMART Campus students at the International School Chess Tournament 2023:

  • The under-11 team secured the runner-up position out of 38 teams.
  • The under-14 team clinched the Champions title, surpassing 38 competing teams.
  • The under-16 team achieved the runner-up position among 14 teams.
  • The above-16 team emerged as Champions, triumphing over 6 participating teams.
