Multi-talented Indian folk musician, Kutle Khan and his group conducted an enriching musical workshop at the GIIS SMART Campus on Sept 1, in which PYP students got an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of various Indian traditional musical instruments.
The event started on a musical note with a soulful rendition of the song Kesariya Balam performed by the primary students. As part of the session, Kutle Khan and his group demonstrated how musical instruments such as Kartaal, Morchang and Bapang, Dholak, Harmonium, and Banjo are played and how the same instruments can be played in different ways. Overall, it was a fruitful workshop in which the students participated enthusiastically and had a great learning experience.
The school has always provided its students with ample opportunities to explore their interests and showcase their talents by organising various activities throughout the year. From Smart Talks to Leadership Lecture Series, webinars to workshops, the opportunities provided are endless and help in every child’s holistic development. The workshop with Kutle Khan perfectly exemplifies the same.
