Eighteen students from GIIS SMART Campus demonstrated exceptional analytical thinking and economic insight at the 2025 World Economics Cup (WEC) Continental Qualifier, held online on Saturday, April 12. The competition, which brings together talented high school students from across the globe, featured a 90-minute integrated test assessing fundamentals, deep comprehension, critical thinking, and innovation in economics.
One of the GIIS teams secured the coveted Silver Award, while the other two teams earned Bronze Awards, showcasing the depth of talent and teamwork across the school. The event also recognised individual excellence: Siddhanth Subramaniam emerged as one of Singapore’s Top 10 scorers, with a remarkable score of 97, earning him the Highest Distinction. Advay Soni, also among the Top 10 scorers, scored 89.5 and received a Higher Distinction.
The World Economics Cup aims to identify and empower the next generation of economists, nurturing their leadership and global awareness. The achievements of our students are a testament to GIIS’s strong academic foundation and commitment to building future-ready learners equipped with real-world skills.
