The International Baccalaureate had cancelled the May examinations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Students were assessed on their Internal Assessment scores and through rigorous statistical analysis of historical performances.
Within these circumstances, the school average stood at 37.35 which showed the depth of academic excellence consistently followed by the school which led to 71.2% students scoring 35 points and above.
Happy at the results, SMART Campus principal Ms Melissa Maria said that the performances were outstanding considering the unprecedented circumstances under which the students were assessed. “We are proud that our 2020 class has emerged with flying colours and overcome all the challenges that were thrown at them.”
She also congratulated the teachers for putting in extra effort to make sure that the pandemic does not affect student progress and future in any way. “This is a reflection of the quality of teaching, learning opportunities and the diligence of our teachers. Not to forget, the cooperation and guidance of our parents who have been a strong pillar of support.”
Global Schools Foundation chairman Mr Atul Temurnikar also heartily congratulated the students and wished them good luck in their future endeavours. At a recently held graduation ceremony, Mr Temurnikar had advised them on 10 tips that would hold them in good stead for the future. Reacting to the results, he said: “GIIS has always been producing good results in decisive examinations. This year’s cohort proved once again that our students are well-rounded and have the capacity to be global citizens.”
GIIS has been offering IBDP since 2007. It is one of the most recognised high school Programme in international universities worldwide where students are assessed based on six subjects along with Theory of Knowledge, Creativity Activity and Service (CAS) and Extended Essay. Due to its immersive and challenging nature, IB requires students and teachers to go the extra mile and adopt distinctive learning practices to achieve stupendous results.
