Five students emerged world toppers with a perfect score of 45 points, and 3 achieved near perfect score of 44 points, as GIIS students once again soared high at the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, results showed. The school average was recorded to an all-time high of 37% as of August 2018.
Archana Dhinakar Bala, Srivatsan Ramapriyan P.D., Malavika Raman, Durga Rukhmini Manasvini Talagadadivi and Sandhya Ramachandran topped the school with 45 grade points this year.
In the 2018 GIIS IB batch, 38% scored more than 40 points, of which 3% students obtained a near perfect score of 44 grade points, 9% scored 43 grade points, 8% scored 42 grade points, 7% scored 41 grade points and 6% scored 40 grade points. 100% students secured IB Diploma.

"GIIS has broken records once again. This is a proud moment for us," said Principal Melissa Maria. Ms Maria also thanked Ms Madhu Khanna, Principal of the Queenstown Campus, where the IB students spent their most important final year before the school moved its operations to the SMART Campus in July.
Anxious students and their parents, who had gathered in the SMART Campus multipurpose hall before the results were announced by the school, cheered as Ms Melissa announced the school results and the names of the toppers. IB and IG Academic Supervisor Sutha Ramakrishnan and IB Coordinator Deepa Chandrasekaran along with teachers of the IB programme were also present. The students' achievements bear testimony to the sincere commitment and value of hard work put in by all our teachers.
After the announcement of the results, grade sheets were handed to those parents and students who were present.
"Heartiest congratulations to all our students who have made us proud. We wish you all the more success in your future educational journey," said GIIS Chairman Mr Atul Temurnikar.
The dedicated efforts of the IB teachers at GIIS has borne results and is reflected in the brilliant performance of students. This outstanding outcome was only possible with the mentorship of the highly-experienced and hardworking teachers. The IB 2018 results is yet another feather in the cap for Global Indian International School.
IB diploma students write exams for a total of six subjects, Theory of Knowledge, complete a community service project, and write a 4,000-word extended essay.
