The Cultural Day was commemorated at GIIS Bangkok campus on 18th October, 2019. The event exhibited the cultures of four different countries, Japan, South Africa, Mexico and Australia through stalls.
The event was called - ‘World Around Us’ 2019 and was a continuation of the yearly cultural day Programme introduced last year.
The stalls were decorated to demonstrate the national attributes of each country and students enjoyed learning specific things about each culture through a series of hands-on activities. National monuments, flags, and pictures of important characters were displayed at each stall. Students prepared the replica of various national symbols during house gatherings and students performed dances unique to every country.
GIIS Principal, Ms Sopa Sittisruang, and Vice Principal of Kindergarten Mr Cyril Rodriquez Ibanez steered the whole event in a wonderful manner to achieve maximum learning.
The event made the term ‘universal learner’ more meaningful to students. It taught them tolerance towards factors like physical appearance, cultural differences, linguistics, social conditions, religion, political circumstances and different ideologies and taught them that differences enrich human-beings capacity to understand and collaborate.
