The Business studies students of Class 10 [IGCSE year 2] got an opportunity to visit Bentoli AgriNutrition Pte Ltd on 5th August. The students were warmly welcomed by the staff at Bentoli and directed to the conference room. Mr. Raj, Exe.VP- Singapore, briefed the students on the company’s history.

Bentoli is a family owned, professionally managed business organization headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA with regional business operations in Asia, Latin America, Europe, Africa and Australia. They are present in over 40 countries worldwide. They have been in the business of improving nutritional standards and performance of livestock for the past 38 years. Mr. Raj went on to discuss the ways to set up a business, marketing mix-product, price promotion place etc. Having given a general idea of the operations of a business he narrowed it down to Bentoli. They were shown the organization chart of the Singapore branch following which, the students were shown the integrated function flowchart of the firm, which the students thought, was a “very complicated circuit board”. This confusion was soon cleared when they were given an understanding of the flowchart.

Following the brief interactive lecture the students were shown around the production department, the labs, the storage area, sample bank and office. Food and refreshments were provided in the end.

In class I have always learned how a business runs through lessons, but when we went to Bentoli I got to see my lessons come to life right before my own eyes. I was able to relate what I leant in class in a practical situation and it made me understand business better. Thank you Bentoli.
