Global Indian International School Bengaluru celebrated its second Annual Day ‘Spectrum’ in February 2015. It was a day of gaiety, entertainment, lights and fanfare for everyone belonging to the GIIS family. Present on this occasion were eminent dignitaries like Mr. Praveen Mittal as Chief Guest and Mr. Rajeev Katyal, Country Director GIIS India as the Guest of Honour.
The evening commenced with the annual report, shared by Mr. Ganesh Sharma, Principal GIIS Whitefield, Bangalore. Mr. Rajeev Katyal encouraged the students through an inspirational and motivating speech. Mr. Praveen Mittal captivated each one present by sharing his words of wisdom.
Following the formal address, the children set the stage afire with their spectacular performance. The evening began with an invocation to Lord Ganesha who is revered as the God of arts and sciences and wisdom. The show was a mixed medley of dance and drama - The ‘Rhythms of India’ was presented by the Pre-primary students, which was followed by ‘Alice in Wonderland’ by classes I & II. The students from classes III to VI paid a highly vibrant and astounding homage to the ‘Goddess River Ganga’ through their laudable and magnificent performance. The enthusiastic students were dressed up in colourful and bright attires and the audience loved looking at them. The event unfolded an indigenous panorama of Indian culture and Heritage along with a flavour of international classic literature - the universal favourite of children, Alice in Wonderland.
The event came to a happy conclusion with a vote of Thanks by our Pre Primary Coordinator Ms. Preetha D’Mello.
“Annual Day is the celebration time for our students and us. This is a wonderful occasion where students get to showcase their talents and the staffs along with the parents gladly enjoy the same. GIIS believes in the holistic growth of pupils and the progress all the children made this year is incredible.” Said Mr. Rajeev Katyal.
