GIIS partners Indian National Trust of Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH) for conservation of National Heritage.
The Heritage Club of GIIS Bangalore, launched in 2013, conducts activities ranging from historical site visits, heritage walks, awareness programmes, eco-friendly works and art workshops throughout the year. Each student was given a passport by Intach to maintain his or her contribution towards understanding, studying and preserving our heritage.
The range of activities for 2014-15 included Celebration of World Environment Day, Independence Day, Janmashtrami, Teachers’ Day, Grandparents day, Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, Children’s day, Kannada Rajyothsava and Lohri. Students of Class IV presented their assembly on the value ‘Respect for Everyone’ and another one with the topic ”Indian Armed Forces and Courage”. Students of Class III presented a special assembly with @aps@Kindness@aps@ and many more. The students were judged on various parameters for their efforts and participation in the drive towards preserving heritage.
GIIS Bangalore won Second and Third positions including cash prize worth Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 respectively.
The students felt motivated and appreciated for being recognized for their efforts.
