When a child takes the first step to discover the world of education, the ocean of books and characters become their best friends. Global Indian International School (GIIS) Bangalore Pre Primary children have always shown great curiosity during story telling sessions or book reading activities. The Book Week was specially organized for the young book lovers and the children of Nursery, KG 1 and KG 2 classes explored the world of books for a week.

On Day 1, the students enjoyed the exciting Puppet show where the stories like The Gingerbread Man, Three BillyGoats Gruff and The Crow’s Wish were enacted using puppets for the respective classes. They were seen smiling and cheering all through the show and they showed immense amount of curiosity upon the sight of the puppet characters.

On Day 2, the children came all the more happily to school as they were eager to flaunt their attires. The students came dressed up as their favourite character from the story books they loved reading.  On Day 3, they did a creative activity where the tiny tots made interesting take away delights as a memory of the book week. The children from Nursery kids made colourful bookmarks, KG 1 made a story booklet of 'The Lion and the mouse' and KG 2 did a story sequencing of the 'The Three Little Pigs'. On Day 4, all the children witnessed the Live Story Telling session by the expert storyteller Ms. Chaitali, who was accompanied by Ms. Archana from Scholastic. The stories kept the students curious and they were ardent listeners. They showed expressions of joy through laughter and amazement as the moral stories were enacted in the best way for the children.

The Book Week was indeed a great experience for the small wonders of Global Indian International School, Bangalore as they enjoyed all the activities based on the stories and famous characters in books.
