Poetries, skits mark Hindi Diwas event in Thailand

BANGKOK, 4 JUNE, 2018: Talent shined at the Hindi Diwas event as GIIS Thailand as students exhibited their skills in the language at the cultural event organised by the Indian Embassy at Srinakharinwirot University.

More than 300 guests were present at the occasion that was coordinated in conjunction with the World Hindi Day. GIIS was represented by 9 students, who tapped on their passion for storytelling and crafted poetries and skits in Hindi language. 

Sitha Sonthichai from Grade 9 and Ravinappa from Grade 7 staged a Hindi skit titled The Interview’. Another Hindi skit, ‘Uttam Seekh’ was presented by Akkawat from Grade 6 and Kasidet from Grade 5. Shrestha, from Grade 3 recited a poem titled ‘Hindi Prem’. Bhoomika and Rishma, both students from Grade 7, performed Ganesh Vandana which is a semi-classical dance, while Jeevika from Grade 6 and Aayan from Grade 3, performed a patriotic dance.

The Hindi Divas event aims to raise interest and knowledge of Hindi language in Thailand, and many Thai and Indian students from various Universities and Institutions contributed to the event this year.  

As the spectacular event reached conclusion, Indian Embassy, Bangkok presented certificates to all the participants in appreciation of their engagement in the event.
