GIIS Students once again win accolades at the Indo-Thai Fun Fair

GlIS Bangkok took part in the 5th Indo-Thai Fun Fair held at Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, which was organised by Indian Embassy and Indian Social Club of Thailand, in February 2019. Students had lot of fun and frolic at the fair and also won accolades during the contests held at the fair.

The football field of Srinakharinwirot University was transformed into a vibrant socio-cultural platform on the day of the event. The fair was marked by Art and Quiz competitions and also cultural performances.

The theme of the Art Competition was ‘Save Environment’. GIIS students, Jeevika Saini, Phantira Soimaneewan, and Akshayaa Kalyanaraman won in the Art competition and received trophies.

The dance performance depicted the fusion of Indian, Thai and Chinese culture and displayed the message of unity in diversity.

In the Quiz competition, twenty teams from different universities and international schools competed against each other. The students who qualified to participate in the Quiz from GIIS were Siddhant Kullar, Bhoomika Dinesh Shetty and Heemraj Chakraborty. GIIS students won the trophy and 5000-baht worth cash prize and an eReader, Kindle.  It is the second consecutive year that the GIIS students have won this Quiz competition.

The prizes were distributed to the winners by the honourable Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, General Tansak Patimapragon. It was a proud moment for teachers and parents who were present in the jubilation at the fair.
