Vismaya Sudhir Secures Second Prize at DQ Labs Design Hackathon 2026

A proud moment for GIIS Whitefield as Vismaya Sudhir, our Grade 12 Humanities student, secured the Second Prize along with a cash award of Rs.5,000 at the DQ Labs – Design Hackathon 2026.

Competing in the Tangible Product Design category, Vismaya took on the challenge ‘Nation First Appeals’ and presented an innovative design solution that reflected her creativity, thoughtful approach and ability to transform an idea into a meaningful concept. Her work stood out for its originality and demonstrated how design can be used to address challenges through practical and purposeful solutions.

Participating in such platforms gives students the opportunity to apply their learning beyond the classroom, experiment with ideas and develop the confidence to approach challenges from different perspectives. For Vismaya, the experience was a valuable opportunity to strengthen her design thinking and problem-solving abilities while showcasing her creative potential on a competitive platform.

Her achievement is a wonderful reflection of GEM 3 – Skills Development, one of the key pillars of the 9GEMS pedagogy at GIIS. By encouraging students to develop creativity, innovation, problem-solving and design thinking skills, the programme empowers them to turn their ideas into solutions that can create meaningful impact.

Congratulations to Vismaya on this well-deserved achievement. We are proud of her accomplishment and look forward to seeing her creativity and ideas continue to make a difference.
