Every leader begins with a single opportunity to step forward. At GIIS Whitefield, that opportunity was celebrated with great pride during the Investiture Ceremony 2026–27, where a new Student Council officially took on the responsibility of leading the school community with integrity, confidence, and purpose.
The ceremony was more than the presentation of badges and sashes—it was a celebration of trust, responsibility, and the values that define true leadership. Students, teachers, parents, and distinguished guests came together to witness a milestone that marked the beginning of a new journey for the young leaders entrusted with representing their peers.
A graceful Saraswati Vandana set a serene and inspiring tone for the event, while the thoughtfully curated ambience reflected the creativity and dedication of the school community. The performances beautifully highlighted how leadership at GIIS extends beyond academics, embracing the arts, culture, and self-expression as equally important aspects of a child's growth.
Welcoming the gathering, Principal Mr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari spoke about the importance of leading with humility, responsibility, and compassion. His address encouraged the newly elected council members to see leadership not as a position of authority but as an opportunity to serve, inspire, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Wing Commander Nainjot Kaur (Retd.), whose inspiring words left a lasting impression on everyone present. Drawing from her own experiences, she urged students to face every challenge with courage, remain resilient in difficult moments, and never underestimate their own potential. Adding to the inspiration, Guest of Honour Mr. Avneesh Singh shared his thoughts on visionary leadership, reminding students that innovation, creativity, and empathy are qualities that shape exceptional leaders.
One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony arrived when the newly elected Student Council members were formally invested with their sashes and badges. As Head Boy Ednit Singhal and Head Girl Maahi Himanshu Kshatriya, along with the rest of the council, stepped forward to accept their responsibilities, the atmosphere was filled with pride and anticipation. Their appointment symbolised the confidence the school community has placed in them to lead with honesty, commitment, and integrity.
Adding an emotional touch to the occasion, the school choir's heartfelt rendition of A Million Dreams beautifully captured the aspirations of every student in the hall. Soon after, the newly elected council took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the values of the school and work towards the growth of every student. From supporting academics and sports to promoting student well-being and encouraging participation in school life, their promise reflected a shared commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Moments like these are an important part of the learning journey at GIIS Whitefield. Leadership is nurtured not only inside classrooms but also through meaningful experiences that encourage students to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, make thoughtful decisions, and lead with empathy. These opportunities help students build confidence while preparing them to become responsible global citizens.
As the ceremony concluded with heartfelt words of gratitude and the National Anthem, it left behind more than memories of a beautifully organised event. It marked the beginning of a new chapter for a group of young leaders who now carry the trust of their teachers and classmates. With fresh ideas, a strong sense of purpose, and the support of the entire school community, the Student Council of 2026–27 is ready to lead by example and make the year ahead truly memorable.
