At GIIS Tokyo, with our lovely campuses in Seishincho and Kitakasai, Earth Day is a special time! We show our little ones, even in kindergarten, how important it is to look after our beautiful planet. This way, we start learning about caring for the Earth right from when we're very young.
 

This year, on 22 April, our Earth Day was filled with fun and learning. We began with a bright and cheerful assembly where our kids watched a colourful presentation all about Earth Day. It showed us how sometimes the Earth needs our help because it gets a bit poorly from too much rubbish and smoke.
 

After the assembly, it was time to get creative with our hands! Our teachers helped us make some really cool things from stuff that we usually throw away. Here’s what we made:

• Newspaper Bags: We turned old newspapers into bags. It's like magic—turning something old into something new we can use again!
• Seed a Plant: Each of us got a little pot made from materials that can biodegrade. We filled them with soil and planted seeds. Now we can watch our plants grow day by day!
• Toilet Roll Pencil Holders: We decorated toilet paper rolls with lots of colours and made them into holders for our crayons and pencils.
• Milk Carton Crafts: Our old milk cartons turned into beautiful bird feeders and little houses. We had so much fun painting and decorating them!
   

Learning about our planet isn't just for Earth Day; it’s part of everything we do at GIIS Tokyo. Whether we are in the classroom or out playing, we always think about how we can be kind to our Earth. We learn to use less, recycle more, and understand why plants are so important. At both our campuses in Seishincho and Kitakasai, we all work together—kids, teachers, and parents—to take care of our world. It shows us that everyone, even the smallest among us, can do something to help.

Every year, as Earth Day comes around, we're excited to learn more and do more. We want to make sure that as we grow up, we keep caring for our planet so it stays a beautiful home for everyone. Let's keep learning and having fun, while we help our Earth feel happy and healthy!
