Young Scientists Explore the Magic of a Volcano at GIIS Balewadi

GIIS Balewadi, organised an exciting Magic Volcano activity for its Kindergarten 1 (K1) and Kindergarten 2 (K2) learners as part of its Thinking Thursday initiative. The hands-on experiment introduced young learners to the fascinating world of science through an engaging and interactive demonstration.

The activity offered children an opportunity to witness a simulated volcanic eruption as their volcano bubbled, fizzed and erupted, creating a sense of wonder and excitement. The young learners watched with keen interest as the experiment unfolded, observing the fascinating reaction and eagerly discovering how a volcano erupts.

Through the experiment, the children were introduced to a basic scientific concept involving the reaction between baking soda and vinegar, which produces carbon dioxide gas, resulting in bubbles and foam that create the appearance of a volcanic eruption. The demonstration helped simplify a scientific phenomenon and made learning both enjoyable and meaningful for the young learners.

The Magic Volcano activity encouraged curiosity, observation and a spirit of exploration among the children. By combining practical demonstrations with interactive learning, the initiative provided a stimulating environment where young minds could ask questions, make observations and develop an early interest in science.

The joyful experience not only brought excitement to the classroom but also inspired the budding scientists to explore, experiment and discover more about the world around them.
