Singapore witnessed an inspiring showcase of talent and innovation as the GIIS SMART Campus, Punggol Singapore successfully organized its twelfth Real World Challenges Convention (RWCC) on December 6th and 7th, 2023, at the SMART Campus. This convention served as a unique platform encouraging students to engage with real-world problems, research their chosen topics, find solutions, and present their process.
Under the theme HOPE 2030 – Heralding Opportunity Possibility Equality for a Greener, Safer, Happier World, the event attracted more than 800 students, parents, and academic leaders across Global Schools Foundation. The RWCC 2023 convention serveds as a meeting ground for schools from Singapore and across Asia, fostering collaboration to create a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. It hosted participants from various GIIS campuses, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ahmedabad, Balewadi, Whitefield, Bannerghatta, East Coast, Hadapsar, Kuala Lumpur, Noida, SMART Campus, Tokyo, and GSF schools like OWIS, Vikaasa, Glendale, Witty, CIS Manila, and DIS Manila.
In the realm of competitions, GIIS Balewadi students showcased their brilliance. Kriti Heda, Aditi Patil, and Arham Faridi secured the first position in the Innovative Social & Commercial Entrepreneurship Challenge (secondary team). Anvi Ranade, Archit Songadkar, Shreyas Nimje, Ishita Sahu, and Maitreyi Sowani stood second in OPUS for Hope (Upper Primary). Furthermore, Palak Jain, Vandana Mishra, Sonali Parikh, and Kiran Ainshani secured the first runner-up positions and Nandita Kulkarni, parent of Abeer Kulkarni stood second runner-up in the Green Message Through Puppet Play (Teacher and Parents category). Vihaan Vora claimed the third position in the SMART Strokes For Young Folks(Category: Lower Primary).
The RWCC 2023 was not merely a competition but a platform for students to showcase their talents, creativity, and problem-solving skills. As we reflect on the successes of this year, we eagerly anticipate more such events that will continue to nurture and celebrate the potential of our young minds.
