September: A Month of Learning, Achievements and Excellence at GIIS Balewadi

Dear Parents,

Greetings of the Day!

September was a month of achievements, creativity and enriching learning experiences at GIIS Balewadi. From sporting and literary accomplishments to scientific exploration, public speaking and interactive classroom activities, our students continued to showcase their talents, confidence and enthusiasm. The month provided numerous opportunities for them to explore their interests, develop essential skills and celebrate the joy of learning.

We are proud of Darsh Krishna Chidrawar, who participated in an official Guinness World Records title attempt for “The Fastest 100m on Inline Skates Backwards” in Belgaum, Karnataka, on 31 May 2026. This remarkable achievement reflects his dedication, courage and passion for skating. Adding to our pride, Saanvi Shankar earned literary recognition as a co-author of the anthology Gully Wale Yaar – Volume 1. Her poem, “Those Uneducated High Achievers”, offers a thought-provoking perspective on success, resilience and hard work. Congratulations to both students on their accomplishments!

Our young learners displayed their knowledge and confidence at the K2 Quiz Competition, where the finalists participated enthusiastically in various rounds, demonstrating teamwork, listening skills and quick thinking. The event created a joyful learning experience, with parents cheering on their little champions.

Scientific curiosity and innovation took centre stage at the GSE Competition, hosted by GIIS Balewadi. Students impressed everyone with their scientific knowledge, creativity and presentations, particularly through an engaging project on “My Amazing Journey of the Human Body”. With participation from four campuses, the competition encouraged collaboration and the exchange of ideas. GIIS Balewadi and GIIS Charholi jointly secured second place. Congratulations to all participants!

The Elocution Competition 2026–27 for Grades 9–12 provided a platform for students to showcase their oratory and communication skills. With 51 participants in the preliminary round and 19 finalists, the competition celebrated confidence, originality and effective expression across English, Hindi and Marathi. Congratulations to all the winners for their commendable performances.

We also celebrated Hindi Diwas with enthusiasm through a special assembly, poetry recitations, sher-o-shayari, rap performances and creative displays. Students of Grades 9 and 10 explored the contributions of renowned Hindi writers and poets, strengthening their communication, research and presentation skills while developing a deeper appreciation of the language and its rich literary heritage.

At the pre-primary level, the My Learning Checkpoint (MLCP) offered GMP learners an engaging opportunity to demonstrate their learning through interactive activities such as number building, picture matching, plant growth sequencing and sight word bowling. With parents actively participating as learning partners, the experience made assessment enjoyable while fostering independent learning, confidence and essential skills.

As we conclude another fulfilling month, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated teachers for their guidance and commitment, our enthusiastic students for their curiosity and perseverance, and our supportive parents for their continued trust and partnership. Together, we continue to create a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to explore, learn and excel. Let us look forward to another month of meaningful experiences, new milestones and shared success!

Warm Regards,
Mr Abhishek Bagchi
