Dear Parents,
Greetings of the Day!
The month of May provided our students and teachers with a welcome opportunity to rest, rejuvenate, and prepare for the upcoming academic session. Before the break, students of Grades 1 and 2 marked Earth Day with a series of engaging and meaningful activities. The day began with a delightful Plant-a-Seed activity, where young learners planted seeds and learned how to care for them at home. A refreshing nature walk around the campus helped them observe and appreciate the beauty of trees, flowers, birds, and insects.
Students also showcased their creativity through a poster-making activity featuring inspiring themes such as Save Earth and Go Green. Adding to the fun, they created adorable Earth puppets during a hands-on craft session, reinforcing the message of caring for our planet. The celebration concluded with thoughtful discussions on simple yet impactful ways to protect the environment, such as reducing plastic use, conserving water, and participating in local clean-up efforts.
The young minds at GIIS Balewadi also explored the world of science and healthy living through engaging Thinking Thursday activities. Grade 3 students dived into the fascinating Feeding Habits of Animals activity, where they learned to classify animals as herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores while understanding how physical features such as teeth and beaks relate to their diets.
Students of Grades 4 and 5 explored the importance of the food pyramid and nutrition, gaining valuable insights into nutrients, balanced diets, healthy eating habits, and making smart food choices for a healthy lifestyle. These activities encouraged students to think, observe, classify, and apply their learning to real-life situations, making science both fun and meaningful.
The campus also celebrated Mother’s Day with a fun-filled carnival dedicated to all the wonderful mothers in our community. From exciting games and lively dance sessions to delicious snacks and a special pampering zone featuring nail art and bracelet-making activities, the day was filled with joy and laughter. One of the most heartwarming moments was the "Who's My Child?" activity, where mothers identified their children simply by looking at pictures of their eyes, creating memories to cherish forever.
As we now look ahead to June, we are excited to welcome our students back to campus and begin a new chapter in their academic journey. With a host of enriching activities, learning opportunities, and memorable experiences planned for the coming months, we are confident that the new academic session will be both rewarding and inspiring. We thank all parents for their continued support and partnership and look forward to another year of growth, achievement, and success together.
Warm Regards,
Ms. Munmun Chakraborty
