Global Indian International School (GIIS), Balewadi, conducted the My Learning Checkpoint (MLCP) for its Global Montessori Plus (GMP) learners, providing them with an engaging platform to demonstrate their learning through interactive activity stations.
The checkpoint featured a range of hands-on activities, including Food Group Sorting, Build the Numbers, Vyanjan and Picture Matching, Plant Growth Sequencing, Shape Recognition and Napkin Folding, Blend Reading and Picture Matching, and Sight Word Bowling. Each activity encouraged children to apply their learning independently while strengthening essential skills such as observation, classification, sequencing, literacy, numeracy and fine motor coordination.
Parents participated as active learning partners, observing their children confidently perform the activities and celebrating their progress. The interactive format allowed parents to gain insights into their children's learning journeys while appreciating their growing abilities and independence.
The MLCP transformed assessment into a joyful and meaningful learning experience, reflecting the GMP philosophy of learning through exploration, active participation and independence. The initiative highlighted the importance of experiential learning in helping young learners build confidence, develop essential skills and apply concepts in engaging, real-world contexts.
