Dear Parents,
Greetings of the Day!
As the new academic year began, GIIS Balewadi welcomed students with renewed enthusiasm, fresh aspirations, and a true spirit of learning. June proved to be a month filled with inspiration, innovation, and meaningful engagement, as students across all sections participated in a wide range of enriching experiences that encouraged their intellectual, emotional, social, and creative development.
The month began with the GMP section celebrating World Environment Day through a fun and engaging skit that taught children the importance of keeping our Earth clean and protecting the environment. Dressed as flowers, a detective, a monster, and even a dustbin, our teachers brought environmental awareness to life in a way that was both entertaining and easy for young minds to understand. The little ones also joined in the performance, making the experience interactive, memorable, and filled with laughter.
Students also came together for a special assembly dedicated to raising awareness about protecting our planet. Through inspiring speeches, informative presentations, and an engaging skit, they highlighted the importance of saving trees, conserving water, reducing pollution, and keeping our surroundings clean. The assembly concluded with a pledge to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute towards a greener, healthier future. It was heartening to see our young learners actively participate and take responsibility for creating a more sustainable world.
Our Pre-Primary students enthusiastically participated in the exciting 'Make Your Own Stethoscope' activity. Using simple materials, the children discovered how sound travels and experienced the joy of hearing sounds more clearly through their handmade stethoscopes. This engaging hands-on activity sparked curiosity, strengthened observation skills, and encouraged scientific thinking in a fun and meaningful way. Watching our young learners listen, explore, and learn with such enthusiasm was truly delightful.
We also successfully conducted the Student Council 2026–27 Interview Process, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students across Grades 9 to 12. With 56 self-nominations and 49 shortlisted candidates appearing for the interviews, students demonstrated exceptional confidence, leadership potential, communication skills, and a genuine commitment to serving the school community. Conducted through a fair and transparent two-panel interview process, the event provided aspiring student leaders with an opportunity to present their vision and readiness to take on greater responsibilities.
On the occasion of Father's Day, students of Grades 9 to 12 took time to reflect on the love, guidance, sacrifices, and values their fathers bring into their lives every day. Through thoughtful activities such as stepping into their fathers' shoes, sharing heartfelt messages, creating a Legacy Tree, and recording personal audio and video tributes, students expressed gratitude for the lessons, strength, and unwavering support they have received over the years. The celebration was filled with reflection, appreciation, and meaningful conversations, reminding us that some of life's greatest lessons are often learned from those who quietly guide us every step of the way.
We celebrated the International Day of Yoga with a rejuvenating session that highlighted the importance of physical fitness, mindfulness, and inner peace. Guided by certified yoga practitioners Ms. Vidhya Hibare and Ms. Neha Shetye, students enthusiastically participated in yoga asanas, pranayama, and mindfulness activities, displaying remarkable spirit and discipline throughout. The celebration inspired students to embrace yoga as a daily practice and take a step towards a healthier and happier lifestyle.
Heartiest congratulations to Tarush Singh from GIIS Balewadi for his outstanding performance at the Maharashtra State Ice Skating Championship 2026. Demonstrating exceptional speed and skill, Tarush won a silver medal in the 333-metre race and a bronze medal in the 222-metre race. Your hard work, perseverance, and dedication have made the entire GIIS Balewadi family proud.
June has set a promising tone for the academic year, filled with meaningful experiences that have encouraged our students to think creatively, act responsibly, and grow confidently. I am proud of the energy and dedication demonstrated by our school community and look forward to many more opportunities that will inspire our learners to excel both academically and personally. Together, let us continue to nurture young minds who will contribute positively to society.
Warm Regards,
Ms. Munmun Chakraborty
