Students from Grades 2 to 10 at GIIS Balewadi recently came together to celebrate Book Day, participating in a series of thoughtfully curated activities aimed at fostering a love for reading.
The celebration featured a variety of engaging initiatives for different age groups. Secondary students took part in the ‘My Favourite Book Wall’ activity, where they shared insights about their most-loved books by writing on chits, which were then creatively displayed on a dedicated wall. The activity encouraged students to express their reading preferences and inspired peer-to-peer book recommendations.
For primary students, a lively read-aloud session was organised, capturing their imagination and making storytelling an interactive experience. The young learners thoroughly enjoyed the session, which highlighted the joy of reading in a fun and engaging manner. In addition, all students were shown an informative video on World Book Day, helping them understand the significance of the occasion and the importance of cultivating reading habits.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across grades, making it both a joyful and meaningful celebration. Through such initiatives, GIIS Balewadi continues to nurture a culture of reading and lifelong learning among its students.
