Global Indian International School (GIIS) Balewadi organised a Grade 10 Parent Interaction and Career Guidance Session to help parents navigate the crucial stage of academic planning and career decision-making as students prepare to transition to senior secondary education.

The session featured an interaction with Mr Abhishek Bagchi, Principal, GIIS Balewadi followed by an informative career guidance session led by Mr Anubhav Seth, Head of Career Counselling and University Guidance.

During the interaction, the Principal shared essential parenting guidelines, emphasising the importance of providing students with appropriate academic, emotional and personal support. The discussion highlighted the role parents play in helping children navigate academic expectations, build confidence and prepare for the next phase of their educational journey.

Mr. Seth subsequently conducted an engaging session on the importance of career counselling at this formative stage. He explained how structured guidance can help students identify their strengths, recognise their interests and make informed decisions about suitable academic streams and future career pathways. He also discussed the changing career landscape, emerging professional opportunities and evolving skill requirements. Emphasising the need to prepare students for a dynamic future, he highlighted the importance of developing relevant skills, increasing career awareness and providing exposure to diverse fields. Parents were also introduced to emerging career options and the various pathways available to help students pursue their aspirations.
