GIIS Balewadi, recently hosted its much-awaited Annual Sports Day – URJA 2.0, showcasing the energy, talent, and sportsmanship of students from Grade 3 and above. The event was marked by vibrant participation, thrilling performances, and an inspiring display of teamwork.

The programme began with a Welcome Address and the Felicitation of the Chief Guest, followed by an inspiring address delivered by the invitee. Setting a grand tone for the day, the March Past by various houses, led by Mr. Kailash Khaira and his team, left the audience in awe. The Oath-taking Ceremony by the Student Council reinforced the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship, after which the ceremonial Retreat of the March Past was conducted. A graceful Invocation Dance and melodious song added cultural richness and dignity to the inauguration.

The Chief Guest was formally received with due honour by the Student Council and coordinators, followed by the Torch Run and the Lighting of the Ceremonial Torch by the Sports Captains and the Chief Guest. The Honourable Principal, Ms. Munmun Chakrobarty, officially declared the Annual Sports Meet open. Adding vibrancy and energy, students from Grades 8 to 11 enthralled the audience with a dynamic Zumba performance.

The track events commenced with 50m and 100m races, where students across various grades displayed enthusiasm, speed, and determination. Students from Grades 6 to 11 competed in the semifinal and final rounds, while special attractions such as the Pyramid Formation (Grades 8–11) and the Parachute Drill (Grade 7) showcased exemplary teamwork and coordination. Grade 6 students added to the excitement with a spirited Zumba performance, followed by competitive relay races for boys and girls from Grades 6 to 11.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony celebrated the achievements of students from Grades 3 to 11, along with winners of the Inter-House Competitions. The highlight of the event was the announcement of the Overall Champion House, with Hibiscus House proudly claiming the trophy, presented by the Principal.

URJA 2.0 concluded on a high note with a formal Vote of Thanks and the solemn rendition of the National Anthem, leaving students, teachers, and parents with lasting memories of a day that celebrated teamwork, sportsmanship, and collective achievement.
