Celebrating Learning and Success this March at GIIS Balewadi

Dear Parents,

Greetings of the Day

March brought an energetic and rewarding close to the 2025–26 academic year at GIIS Balewadi. The entire campus came alive with excitement, accomplishments, and unforgettable moments, showcasing a harmonious mix of learning, creativity, and overall growth across all sections.

The month began with the celebration of Marathi Rajbhasha Din. Students of Grade 7B conducted a special assembly to mark the occasion. They highlighted the significance of Marathi as Maharashtra’s official language through poems, self-composed speeches, and traditional performances such as Gondhal, Bharud, and Abhanga. A lively group song added vibrancy to the celebration. The assembly concluded with a message encouraging everyone to respect, use, and preserve Marathi in daily life.

The little ones of the GMP section participated in a lineup of engaging activities. They celebrated Green Medicine Day by exploring the world of medicinal plants. Students learned how Tulsi, Neem, Mint, and Aloe Vera help keep us healthy and discovered why nature is often called our first doctor. Through a hands-on aloe vera activity, children observed the plant closely and understood how its gel helps heal small cuts, while also developing observation skills and a love for nature. The activity inspired young learners to appreciate nature and its healing power.

Kindergartners also took part in an engaging skit titled “Pretend Play – Post Office,” performed by K2 students for their parents. Dressed as postmasters, postmen, parcel staff, and more, the young learners confidently showcased how the Indian Post Office functions—from posting letters to booking parcels and processing money orders. The activity blended fun with learning, helping children build communication skills, teamwork, and real-life awareness.

Another highlight of the month was the My Learning Checkpoint (MLCP) Day for Nursery, K1, and K2 students. The event served as a platform for parents and teachers to observe children’s learning journeys. Students enthusiastically participated in six activity stations—Language & Literacy, Math, Music, Hindi, Montessori, and Coding—making learning interactive and enjoyable while strengthening cognitive and problem-solving skills. The event highlighted GIIS Balewadi’s commitment to experiential and innovative education.

We are proud to share that Saanvi Sahu secured the third rank at the All-India level in the prestigious Concours Romain Rolland, an international French competition organized by Alliance Française Normandy in collaboration with Prayatna Educational Society. Among 52 participants from GIIS Balewadi, Saanvi’s outstanding performance earned her a gold medal, a school trophy, and certificates. Congratulations, Saanvi! Your achievement makes the entire GIIS Balewadi community proud.

Meanwhile, Anshika Nikhra of Grade 4C emerged victorious in the Girls’ Singles Under-13 category at the W-18 Sports Universe Rising Stars Tournament held recently. Her dedication, confidence, and winning spirit truly inspire us all. Well done, Anshika! Keep shining and reaching for the stars.

As we conclude this eventful month and academic year, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our students, teachers, and parents for their support and enthusiasm. Together, we continue to nurture a learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and excellence.

Warm Regards,

Ms. Munmun Chakraborty

Principal, GIIS Balewadi
