Greetings of the Day!

As we move through the academic year, July has been a month of purpose, progress, and meaningful learning at GIIS Balewadi. From nurturing student leadership and celebrating academic and sporting excellence to creating enriching classroom experiences and strengthening partnerships with parents, every initiative this month has reflected our commitment to holistic education. It has been heartening to witness our students embracing new opportunities with confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

We began the month with the Investiture Ceremony 2026–27, a proud occasion that marked the official induction of our newly elected Student Council. The ceremony was graced by Dr Vinit Lakshminarayana Rao, whose inspiring address encouraged our young leaders to lead with resilience, compassion, and a spirit of service. The conferring of badges and sashes, followed by the Student Council Oath, symbolised our students' commitment to upholding the school's values with integrity, discipline, and dedication.

We are equally proud to celebrate the achievements of our students beyond the classroom. Nikita Jain represented the Pune District Sub-Junior Girls' Football Team at the WIFA Inter-District Championship in Palghar, where the team secured the Second Runner-Up position. Her dedication, teamwork, and determination are truly commendable. We also congratulate Aarav Pakhale for winning the Silver Medal in the Homi Bhabha Examination, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects his perseverance, scientific curiosity, and commitment to academic excellence.

Experiential learning continued to remain at the heart of our educational journey. Through the Global Student Exchange Programme, learners from GIIS Balewadi and GIIS Ahmedabad collaborated in an engaging session on the Classification of Animals. Interactive presentations, songs, educational videos, and the Animal Dice Game transformed learning into an enjoyable and memorable experience while encouraging curiosity and collaboration.

Our commitment to building strong school-home partnerships was further strengthened through the Phonics Workshop conducted by our GMP teachers for parents. The workshop provided practical strategies to support early literacy development, empowering parents to actively participate in their children's language-learning journey.

Collaboration and experiential learning also flourished through our Student Exchange Programme with Vikasa Heritage School, where Grade 1 students explored the concept of addition through storytelling, hands-on activities, and interactive learning experiences. The programme not only strengthened mathematical understanding but also fostered teamwork, communication, and confidence among young learners.

Celebrating our rich cultural heritage remains an integral part of education at GIIS Balewadi. Students of Grade 2B beautifully presented a special assembly inspired by Maharashtra's revered Palkhi procession, highlighting the timeless values of faith, devotion, unity, equality, and mutual respect through prayers, role play, speeches, music, and dance. The experience encouraged students to appreciate cultural traditions while reinforcing the importance of discipline, cooperation, and togetherness.

Supporting our students' overall well-being continues to be a key priority. Our Puberty Education Session for Grade 5 students provided a safe and respectful platform to understand the physical and emotional changes of adolescence. Through interactive discussions, students gained valuable knowledge about personal hygiene, healthy lifestyles, emotional well-being, body privacy, and self-respect, enabling them to navigate this important stage of life with confidence and awareness.

As we look ahead, I encourage every member of our school community to continue embracing new challenges with confidence, kindness, and a growth mindset. Together, let us build on the momentum of this month, celebrate every achievement, learn from every experience, and continue creating an environment where every child is inspired to excel academically, socially, and personally. I extend my sincere gratitude to our students, parents, teachers, and staff for their unwavering support and dedication in making GIIS Balewadi a vibrant community of learning and excellence.
