On Tuesday, 19th May 2026, the GIIS Auditorium came alive with environmental enthusiasm as the Year 2 Cambridge students hosted a vibrant special assembly in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day. The impactful assembly was designed to spread crucial awareness about the beauty of migratory birds, the wonders of avian migration, and the pressing need for global environmental conservation in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The entire project served as a powerful learning journey for the young participants. Prior to taking the stage, the students dived into research, learning about the challenges migratory birds face and their vital role in maintaining ecological balance. Under the dedicated coordination of Ms. Prasilia, the students prepared informative presentation slides, drafted speeches, and rigorously practiced their public speaking and stage presence to build their confidence.
When the curtains rose, the students took the stage. Supported by colorful, bird-themed visual materials, they confidently delivered speeches that educated their peers on wildlife protection and environmental stewardship. The assembly reached a lively crescendo with a special performance of the song "Pullinangal" from the movie "Endhiran 2". Choreographed by Mr. Guna, the energetic dance routine beautifully wrapped up the morning, engaging the audience and celebrating the spirit of nature in a fun, memorable, and deeply meaningful way.
