Kuala Lumpur, 25 FEBRUARY 2021: “Every Goal first started as something in our mind. You have it all within you!”- Deborah Day
GIIS-KL celebrated its first ever Virtual Cultural Fest, ‘Vivacious Hues of Glee’, the Primary Annual Day on 25th February 2021 with glitz and glory. It was fascinating to see little children performing gracefully, their fervor and zeal showcased in each of their performances. It was a grand effort to bring forth a cultural event woven in different colours. Throughout the event, the students were resplendent in colourful attires and costumes. The whole event was an astounding visual treat with amalgamation of various hues and students spreading happiness.
The program commenced with welcome address by the Principal Captain (Dr.) Dinisha Bhardwaj highlighting the role of 9 Gems and expressing how GIIS- KL takes pride in successfully hosting a cultural event year after year. Speaking on the occasion were the Honourable Chief Guests of the event - Associate Director, Global Centre for Education - Mr Rathin Khandhadia and Deputy High Commissioner of India & Appellate Authority for RTI - Mrs Archana Nair who congratulated the students for their wonderful performance preparations and appreciated the combined efforts of Principal, teachers, and students for putting up a grand show.
Students of Std 2 welcomed everyone with their ‘Gracious Dance Galore’ followed by the Std 1 & 2 choir ‘A Euphonic Ensemble’ singing a beautiful melody for all. Following them were the students of Std 1 with their ‘East-West Dance Bonanza’ a combination of Bollywood and Tollywood dance. This year, parents also got an opportunity to participate alongside their wards in the ‘Terrific Two of a Kind’ and they had a blast. The instruments came out to create their melody of ‘True Colours’ in the form of Group 1 of the ‘Harmonious Strings and Chords’ and it was a combination of students from classes 1 to 5. Not forgetting our country of residence Malaysia, the students of Std 2 showed their ‘Moves of Modesty’ and followed it up with a flash mob ‘An Energetic Explosion of Fun and Dance’. Students were then conferred with Academic Accolades for outstanding performances over the last year and also for their diligent attendance throughout the year.
Coming on to perform after the Accolades, were the students of Std 3 to 5 starting the segment with the choir ‘A Melodic Ensemble’ belting out ‘Memories’ a celebration of Friendship. ‘Gloriously Graceful’ girls danced to a classical tune performing Bharatanatyam and Kathak and then there was ‘The Exuberant Clash’ in the Battle of Dance. The second group of the ‘Harmonic Strings and Chords’ played a gamut of instruments to the tune of ‘Vellai Pookal’. Bringing on the folk flair with ‘Pulsating Punjab’, ‘Tantalizing Tamil Nadu’, ‘Mesmerizing Maharashtra’ and ‘Wondrous West’, the students showcased folk dances from Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. As usual it was ‘A Delightful Conclusion’ and it was a morning well spent.
The mesmerizing performances by the students of Standard 1 to 5 warmed the hearts and lifted the spirits of the viewers. No attempt was spared, and outcome spoke for itself.
This Primary Annual Day on virtual platform was acknowledged as a clear and overwhelming success, adding yet another feather in the cap of GIIS-KL.
