Vibrant Rhythms and Cultural Unity: GIIS KL Celebrates Navratri with a Special Assembly

The GIIS KL Field transformed into a canvas of color, music, and joyful celebration on October 30, 2026, as students and faculty from Grade KG to 12 across both CBSE and Cambridge curricula gathered for a Navratri special assembly. Beyond its festive charm, Navratri serves as a meaningful occasion for reflection, self-discipline, and inner growth, inviting the entire school community to embody essential values such as courage, wisdom, and compassion through its sacred tradition of nine night-long observances.

Aligning with the school’s 9 Gems holistic learning framework under Gem 3: Visual and Performing Arts, the gathering commenced on a patriotic note with the Malaysian national anthem. The energetic festivities took flight with a captivating Garba performance by Class 12 students, whose polished footwork set an inspiring tone for the event. Inspired by their seniors, students from all grades formed grand circles alongside their class teachers, dancing together to the rhythmic beats of Garba.

Adding to the artistic richness of the day, Varshini from the Cambridge section mesmerized the audience with a graceful Bharatanatyam recital, showcasing deep dedication to classical Indian dance traditions. To crown the memorable occasion, teachers joined hands in a colorful Garba circle of their own, spreading warmth, unity, and the exuberant spirit of the season all around.
