At GIIS KL, learning extends far beyond textbook pages, transforming into vibrant, student-led experiences that shape responsible global citizens. The recent Grade 4 Assembly was a prime showcase of this philosophy, bringing together the energetic young minds of Grade 4A, 4B, and 4C on the school field for a morning packed with purpose, creativity, and leadership.
The student-led presentation kicked off with Grade 4A taking center stage to deliver a compelling session on mangrove conservation. Speaking with remarkable clarity and confidence, the students illuminated the crucial role mangroves play in protecting coastal ecosystems, outlined the environmental threats these habitats face, and led their peers in a meaningful pledge to protect the natural world.
Injecting warmth and celebration into the morning, Grade 4B took over with their delightful "Friendship Fusion Fiesta." Commemorating the International Day of Friendship, the students creatively blended values like kindness, respect, trust, and empathy into a symbolic "recipe for friendship," culminating in a joyful song that had the entire assembly smiling. Closing out the student performances, Grade 4C tackled the urgent issue of plastic pollution through an engaging, thought-provoking skit that demonstrated simple, practical ways to reduce daily plastic waste.
The assembly wrapped up with an inspiring address from our Vice Principal, Ms. Bhuvaneswari Veeraraghavan, who challenged the students with interactive questions to deepen their understanding of global stewardship. Every element of the morning seamlessly integrated crucial United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—including Quality Education, Climate Action, Life Below Water, and Life on Land—while instilling our core school values of personality development, ethics, community care, and skill development.
By empowering our students to articulate complex global issues and practice essential life values, we cultivate confident communicators and compassionate leaders. Discover a vibrant educational community where your child's voice, character, and potential can truly thrive.
