On May 5, 2026, GIIS KL Auditorium transformed into a vibrant hub of international diplomacy as the school successfully conducted the second chapter of its Model United Nations (MUN) conference. The intensive five-hour event provided a profound experiential learning platform for CBSE students from Grades 9 through 12, offering them a firsthand look into the inner workings of global governance and the responsibilities of leadership.

The conference featured two distinct and highly active committees: the Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) and the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). A total of 25 ambitious students participated in the event, with 20 stepping into the shoes of international delegates and 5 steering the event from behind the scenes as members of the organizing committee. The entire event was meticulously overseen by teacher coordinators Ms. Shivani Khera and Ms. Prachi Goel, ensuring a smooth and highly productive day of debate.

Throughout the conference, students role-played as delegates representing diverse countries, engaging in formal and rigorous debates on pressing global issues. Prior to the event, participants conducted extensive research on their assigned nations to accurately champion their foreign policies. During the sessions, they delivered passionate speeches, raised sharp points of information, and navigated both moderated and unmoderated caucuses. The collaborative nature of the event culminated in the delegates working together to draft, refine, and vote on resolutions, ultimately presenting structured, diplomatic solutions to complex geopolitical challenges.

The committees were ably presided over by two distinguished chairpersons, Ms. Jacinta George and Ms. Nur Harizah, who carried out their roles with exceptional dedication and professionalism. Through their steady guidance, mentorship, and fair evaluation, they inspired the novice and experienced delegates alike to participate with confidence, integrity, and a spirit of healthy competition. The morale in the room was further boosted by inspiring addresses delivered by the Principal, Ms. Dipti Joshna, and the Vice Principal, Ms. Bhuvaneswari Veeraraghavan, whose motivating words encouraged the students to speak boldly and embrace the spirit of diplomacy.

To culminate the day's achievements, GIIS KL also held a special award ceremony dedicated to recognizing the hard work and active participation of the students. This ceremony celebrated the immense effort the delegates and organizers poured into preparing for such complex academic simulations, reinforcing the school's commitment to honoring student initiatives in global affairs and leadership events.

Ultimately, GIIS KL MUN Chapter 2 served as a massive success, perfectly reflecting the values of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the school's own 9 Gems framework. While the delegates sharpened their public speaking, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills, the organizing team strengthened their leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities. By the close of the conference, all participants walked away with a deeper insight into global affairs, fostering a generation of empathetic leaders, active listeners, and responsible global citizens.
