The GIIS KL Biology Laboratory buzzed with innovation and scientific curiosity during the grand finale of the Inter-House Competition (IHC) Scispark Challenge. Designed for students from Grades 9 to 12, this dynamic group activity challenged teams of four to five participants to design and develop engaging games that demonstrate complex scientific concepts. Students masterfully incorporated artificial intelligence applications, programming, or physical components into their projects, closely aligning the competition with GIIS core values such as Academic Excellence, Innovation and Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, Universal Values and Ethics, Skill Development, and the UN Sustainable Development Goal for Quality Education.

The journey to the finals spanned three rigorous rounds. The competition commenced on 7th May 2026, when groups provided an initial overview of their scientific concepts, detailed their game designs, and conducted preliminary trial runs. This momentum carried into the second round on 9th May 2026, which coincided with Parent Engagement Day. On this day, teams tested their games in real time, gathered direct audience feedback, and worked to maximize engagement. Both preliminary rounds were evaluated by the Grades 9–12 Science faculty, who faced the difficult task of shortlisting the finest teams for the final stage.

The culmination of the challenge took place on 28th May 2026. The final groups, along with the Science faculty and event in-charge Ms. Sudipta Datta, assembled for the ultimate showcase. The program opened with a comprehensive introduction to the Scispark Challenge, followed by the introduction of the esteemed external judge, Ms. Mayuri Bhan.

Without delay, the finalists took the stage to present professional pitches detailing their real-time experiences in executing and refining their creations. The students then demonstrated their games live, showcasing physical mechanics and AI integration that thoroughly marveled the audience. Following each live demonstration, the judge conducted a sharp question-and-answer session, offering critical analysis and evaluating the overall efficacy of the games in engaging a live audience.

The successful afternoon concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks dedicated to Ms. Mayuri Bhan. To appreciate her time and efforts, GIIS KL presented her with a small token of remembrance. Her fair judgment, insightful feedback, and encouraging words deeply inspired the participants, making the IHC Scispark Challenge a truly memorable milestone in student-led scientific innovation.
