GIIS KL team welcomed the AL-Bayan Islamic School of 70 students and 8 teachers on 22nd June 2023.
In an effort to foster understanding, celebrate diversity, and promote cultural exchange, Al Bayan Islamic School from Indonesia embarked on a remarkable journey to Global Indian International School. This cultural exchange program served as a bridge between the two nations and provided a platform for students to explore and appreciate each other's traditions, values, and customs.
The visit commenced with a warm welcome as the students from Al Bayan Islamic School were greeted by our GIIS KL with open arms. The program was designed to immerse the students in various cultural activities, encouraging interaction, collaboration, and mutual learning.
The program started with gathering the Al-Bayan students gather in selected places and taking group photos. Then it continued with MOU signing Memorandum of Cooperation from each school. A brief introduction about the purpose and goals of the school visit. Al-Bayan students will be guided on a campus tour by staff and representatives. The students will be provided with information about facilities, buildings and important locations on GIIS campus and also exchange information, about academic programs and student life at GIIS. Beyond the cultural aspects, the visit also provided an invaluable educational experience for both schools by immersing themselves in outdoor activities. Al-Bayan students and GIIS students participated in football, picker ball and colour corner. By engaging in dialogue and breaking down barriers, they developed a deeper appreciation for the similarities and differences in their respective cultures. These interactions fostered empathy, respect, and acceptance, laying the foundation for lifelong friendships.
Our Country Director Mr Manoj Nair gave a warm welcoming speech and welcome future collaboration. Cultural exchange program was cheered up with a Medley Song by a GIIIS KL student, dance performances by both schools. Mash-Up Dance by GIIS KL and Tarian Melayu and Saman by Al-Bayan School. These activities allowed the students to showcase their talents, express their cultural identities, and appreciate the richness of each other's heritage.
At the end of the program, closing speeches were given by the teacher and representatives from both schools. As a token of appreciation, souvenirs were given and continued with the delicious lunch. The visit of Al Bayan Islamic School to Global Indian International School proved to be an enriching and transformative experience. Such initiatives are essential in promoting harmony, breaking down barriers, and building a more interconnected and inclusive world.
