GIIS KL- Alumni Get Together

Kuala Lumpur, 14 February 2021: GIIS KL Alumni Chapter decided to organize a casual alumni session on the 14th of February 2021. This session was organized so that the students calm their minds after the Preboard-II examinations. Mr. Siddarth Manoj, Ms. Shivanie, Mr. Hayrenraj and Mr. Aryan Kabra were invited to take part in this session.

This session took place on a virtual platform and started at around 5:50 P.M MYT. Anvit Sinha, the current school captain gave an introductory speech welcoming the alumni. The alumni ambassador Shayan Rizvi of GIIS-KL took part in this session as well. As soon as the bells chimed 6:00 PM, the session began and almost instantly the alumni started sharing their fun stories they have had in and outside GIIS. The entire batch of Class 12 participated in this session along with a few teachers. Several other alumni, Ms. Veena, Mr. Supreet, Mr. Lakshmi also took part in this session. The students started to feel comfortable with the alumni within a short period of time and vice versa. The alumni not only spoke about what they were currently doing but also about the fun aspects of college life which helped calm the nerves of the anxious students who are not very sure about the next step of their life - college. The session lasted for about 2 hours. Both the alumni and the students loved interacting with each other as it was a very friendly and casual session. The teachers too loved reminiscing with the students about the various incidents that happened in school.

It was really nice to meet my old students.” said Mrs. Anuradha a teacher of GIIS. Another teacher Mrs. Jacintha also said that “It was a fun session. It was amazing seeing so many of my old students after many years.” Anvit Sinha thanked the alumni for the session and thanked the teachers for organizing them. He said that he would love to attend several similar events soon.

Varsha- I have never attended such a casual session before, so it was a first for me and I thought it was lovely. I had the impression that college was all study a little enjoyment but now I see that its evenly distributed throughout the years. I liked this session a lot and I thank the teachers for organizing it.  

Durkesh- The session was fun. I never once felt bored throughout the session. They were talking about their college life and the fun times they had at school. Overall, I felt that it was a nice session.

Janaki- It was a nice event. There were several seniors who had come to tell us about their experiences. The session was fun, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Mrs. Anuradha said that she was incredibly happy with the outcome of the session and that she would try her best to arrange several similar sessions soon.
